Four containers cover it. Match the can to the material and the job runs cleaner.
Construction and demolition. The everyday can. Cabinets, flooring, drywall, trim, lumber, roofing, furniture, mixed tear-out. Comes in 10, 20 and 30 yard.
Clean concrete. A dedicated 20 yard for concrete, block, brick and busted slab. It goes to a recycling facility instead of a landfill, which is why it carries far more weight than the same size mixed can. It has to be clean — no wood, drywall or dirt mixed in.
Yard waste. Brush, palm fronds, hedge trimmings, limbs and root balls, in 20 and 30 yard. Green material only. Mix it with construction debris and the whole load reclassifies.
Concrete washout. A 6.5 yard containment unit for pour days. It keeps rinse water off the ground and off your stormwater exposure. Not every hauler in this market runs one.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster on Sanibel?
Not for a container on your own property. If it has to sit in the right of way, that is permitted work on Sanibel and it is approved through the Streets and Stormwater Department, with the right-of-way application handled by the Building Division at 239-472-4555. Sanibel enforces its codes more tightly than the mainland, so on island jobs it is worth making that call early. Maxim does not pull permits.
I am clearing vegetation. Does that go in the same can?
It should not. Brush, palm fronds, limbs and root balls go in a horticulture can, in 20 or 30 yard, and green material only — it goes to a different facility than construction debris, which is why it is priced separately. Mix construction debris in and the whole load reclassifies at the higher rate. On Sanibel, where clearing is regulated and jobs often produce both, running two cans is normally the cheaper answer.
How much notice do you need for Sanibel?
More than the mainland, and we will be straight with you about it. Because every trip crosses the causeway, we schedule island runs deliberately rather than squeezing them in. Next day is normally fine with reasonable notice. Same day is possible but it depends entirely on where the trucks already are, and a human tells you either way on the first call.
What size do I need?
A single bathroom usually fits a 10 yard, about 3 pickup loads. A kitchen, or a kitchen and bath together, is normally a 20 at about 6 loads. Whole-house rebuild and lot clearing take a 30 at about 9. On an island job, size up rather than risking a second delivery — a second trip out here costs more than the extra capacity does.
Hazardous waste, paint, oils, tires, batteries, asbestos, freon, wet concrete or slurry, contaminated soil, electronics, and mattresses can’t go in a standard dumpster. Some items may be handled separately on request.
Every rental includes 30 days. There is no daily rate and no meter running — most jobs finish well inside it. If a can sits past 30 days a $295 idle fee applies, and we will call you before that happens rather than let it land on the invoice. Need it longer? Tell us up front and we will work it out.
Weight limits depend on the dumpster size and the type of debris you’re loading. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, masonry, and roofing debris may require a different setup than a general cleanout.
